I’m Marie Bird RD BSc (Hons), a State Registered Dietitian specialising in weight loss and weight management, passionate about helping people achieve and maintain a healthy weight in a realistic, sustainable way.
I have a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and am registered with both the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Dietetic Association (BDA).
As a Specialist Dietitian, I have over 40 years of NHS experience, including 30 years specialising in diabetes and weight management. More recently, I’ve supported patients using weight loss injectable medications, working alongside endocrinologists and surgeons within specialist hospital teams.
After decades working in the NHS, I saw how many people struggled with maintaining weight loss after a period of weight loss. NourishWell was created to change that, offering expert, evidence-based support for sustainable weight loss and long-term weight maintenance, delivered with empathy and understanding.

At NourishWell, my goal is to help you feel well, live well, and achieve sustainable weight loss, without guilt, restriction, or rigid diet rules.
Together, we’ll work on improving your relationship with food, with or without weight loss medications, and find a balanced approach to nutrition that supports long-term weight management and maintaining weight loss.
I offer realistic, evidence-based weight loss support, tailored to your individual needs. This includes support for those using weight loss injections, as well as those looking for a more natural, lifestyle-based approach.
I believe in a flexible, sustainable way of eating, without strict rules or restriction. I often encourage an 80:20 approach, focusing on nourishing foods most of the time while still allowing space for the foods you enjoy. This supports long-term weight loss, wellbeing, and a healthier relationship with food.
I take a holistic approach as a specialist dietitian for weight loss, considering your lifestyle, eating habits, medications, and past experiences to create a plan that fits your life and supports long-term success.
